Meritage Properties was founded in 2003 as a value-oriented owner, operator and investor in mid-sized East Coast Properties. Our primary focus is the Boston to Washington, D.C. corridor, although assets may also be acquired outside of these markets where local demographic and economic fundamentals make such acquisitions compelling. Meritage seeks portfolio-wide value creation via selective property acquisitions, intelligent, hands-on property repositioning, disciplined operating principals and focused asset management.
Meritage Properties' mission is to generate outstanding risk-adjusted returns to our partners, while providing unparalleled service to our tenant/clients and setting the standard by which the brokerage community judges comparable properties.
Since its inception, Meritage has acquired interests in 23 properties (2.3 million sf of office space and 503 residential units) valued in excess of $550 million. We currently manage two multi-property investment vehicles. Meritage/Oppenheimer Real Estate Value Partners I LP ("Fund I"), $62 million, is fully committed and has a current portfolio of ten properties. Our second multi-property investment vehicle, Meritage/Oppenheimer Real Estate Value Partners II LP ("Fund II"), closed in September 2007 with equity commitments of $92.5 million. Fund II currently holds interests in seven properties and is actively pursuing additional investment opportunities.
